Pizzeria Guido

“Dad, I’m going to call my new restaurant Pizzeria Guido.” “No, non lo farai.” (No, you won’t.)

GuidoSalvatoreSalvatore Lembo, owner of Firenze Ristorante Italiano, was determined to create something special and worthy of his father’s name.  Realizing his son would not back down, Guido Lembo agreed with one condition.  “Ma solo se farai un buon lavoro.”  (Only if you do a good job.)

Guido needn’t have worried.  Customers come to Pizzeria Guido from miles around to experience the most authentic Italian pizzeria in the area.

Pizzeria Guido is authentic Italian because Salvatore is authentic Italian.  Born and raised in Florence, his standards are high and his customers are the beneficiaries.  He did it right.  He built a custom brick oven.  He took his chef to Italy. He imports the finest ingredients direct from Italy.   “You won’t find a 5-kilo pizza here,” Salvatore promises.  This is the real thing.  This is how they eat pizza in Italy.

It’s more than pizza and an extraordinary wine list.  Salvatore insists that it must be an experience, for customers there for a full meal and those stopping by for dessert, coffee or a glass of wine after a movie.  It’s about creating a lively and inviting atmosphere with music and a top-notch wait staff to make it the perfect place to meet friends and family.  The music?  It’s top rate, too.  Elvira Vitagliano performs Neapolitan mandolin music on Wednesday nights.

True to the character of Crossroads, the buzz at Pizzeria Guido comes from customers of all ages from all corners of the globe.  And you’re likely to hear more than one Italian conversation.  It’s that authentic.  Guido would be proud.  Salute!
