| INFORMATION FOR MUSIC BOOKINGS AT CROSSROADS...
We receive many inquiries from musicians who would like to play at Crossroads and we are always happy to review new music. You should be aware that there is some music we won't play and so there's little point in submitting your stuff to Crossroads if you don't think you'll fit into one of our many formats. We don't play mainstream rock, rap, hip-hop or punk band music. It's too loud for our customers and our merchants. We specialize in music that makes our customers happy and divide our programming between Jazz/Blues, Folk, and World Music. Our most successful shows are geared to listeners aged 25+ and specialty audiences, e.g. Bluegrass, Celtic, Music of Africa, Folk, Delta Blues, Brazilian, Latin, Straight-ahead Jazz, Old-time Folk, Reggae, R&B, Vintage Jazz, etc. The first Saturday of each month is a Big Band Dance that has become very popular. We suggest you take a look at our music program schedule on our website to get an idea about the kinds of groups that play at Crossroads. Crossroads has been presenting FREE LIVE music to appreciative Currently we have two music programs:
(*It's an acoustic music Open Mike, open to all musicians. You'll be provided with an excellent sound technician, a piano and a very supportive family-friendly audience. You must be family-friendly as well. You'll hear acoustic folk, blues, classical, instrumental and other non-electronic musicians from fledgling to fantastic every week. Arrive at 5:30 to sign up. Random drawings are held for play order at 6 PM.) TO SUBMIT MATERIALS--- [Due to the large volume of promotional material we receive, we will only contact you if your music fits into our programming.] Send EMAIL with SUBJECT HEADER: "Crossroads Music Bookings" If you have a web site with music clips that give a good impression of your group, that's preferable to sending CD's. U.S. MAIL: Sorry but we cannot return unsolicited CDs. We have an annual event every November called CULTURAL CROSSROADS, produced by The Ethnic Heritage Council, which features three days of music and dance. All bookings for this event are handled by The Ethnic Heritage Council - www.ethnicheritagecouncil.org/
