Strictly Ballroom Company in Preston, ID was started back in 2006 by Sherri Rallison when several neighbors asked her if she could please start up a ballroom class for their kids. So, Strictly Ballroom Company was born in her garage, and stayed there for 4 years until they grew out of it with over 70 kids in 8 different classes. She then moved the studio into a "real" studio in Preston Idaho, and started up 2 high school competition teams. Strictly Ballroom Company now has 4 high school competition teams and 2 Jr. High competition teams and several classes ranging from 1st grade up through adults.

Our Strictly Ballroom Company competition teams have several national titles and have placed in all different styles of dance. They have competing all through Utah and Idaho. They have toured to several places in the United States, including California, Hawaii, Chicago and St. Louis. They all share a great love of ballroom dancing, and love to share that with their audiences.

Carolyn grew up in the culturally rich Hudson River Valley, home of Pete Seeger and the river sloop Clearwater. Playing music since the age of eleven starting with flute and branching out into guitar in her teens and hammered dulcimer in her early twenties, Carolyn came to the northwest after graduating from University of New Hampshire with a degree in Environmental Conservation and Botany. She spent almost three years as a wandering minstrel in Europe in the late 80's and has been traveling the region and the nation ever since performing at festivals, folk clubs, coffeehouses, churches and schools. She's recorded nine albums and teaches at Dusty Strings Music School in Seattle. She lives on an organic farm on Orcas Island. In her spare time she enjoys sailing and African dance.
